Freshjam
Freshjam, held from 17th September 2024 at GCET Campus One, was a week-long event aimed at raising awareness about suicide prevention and motivating young minds. With over 150+ students participating, the event fostered a vibrant, inspiring, and compassionate atmosphere, encouraging open dialogue on mental health.
Objectives
- To raise awareness about suicide prevention by breaking down stigmas, promoting open conversations, and empowering students to seek help.
- To encourage students to recognize signs of distress in themselves and others, while developing coping mechanisms for mental well-being.
- To create a joyful gathering where students could express their emotions through music, dance, and poetry, offering a creative and therapeutic outlet.
- To build a supportive community where freshers could share their experiences, dreams, and challenges in an environment of empathy and understanding.
Conclusion
Freshjam concluded as a powerful and heartfelt event, addressing the critical issue of suicide prevention while creating a lasting legacy of compassion and support. By coming together through soulful melodies, energetic dance, and heartfelt poetry, the students of GEI celebrated vulnerability and unity.
